Dry day -Bole to Bapu (Mahatma Gandhi) ka b’day

October 2nd has been honored as the International Day of Non- Violence by United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) for celebrating birthday of Father of our nation Mohan Das Karamchand Gandhi. In India it is also famous as Dry-Day that is a day when alcohol should not be consumed or sold.

Ainak Pehne, Lathi Pakde Chalte The Woh Shaan Se
Zaalim Kaape Thar Thar, Thar Thar, Sun Kar Unka Naam Re
Kad Tha Unka Chota Sa Aur Sarpat Unki Chal Re
Duble Se Patle Se The Woh, Chalte Seena Taan Ke
Bande Mein Tha Dum, Vande Mataram…

Gandhi, our bapu is famous for his teachings and preaching on non- violence, unity, untouchability, satyagrah, fasting and more. He teaches new ways to fight a war. According to him a smile can make your enemy confuse.

Gandhigiri- a new fashion wave

His teachings are given a new dimension from the movie “lage raho munna bhai” i.e. Gandhigiri. From the movie youngsters get more connected to Gandhigiri. It started a new wave of silent fighting or ‘satyagrah‘. The wave come in spotlight as a new fashion trend and soon it vanished like the one.

Now-a-days the principles of Gandhiji are losing their real meaning. Youth of India don’t know even the first word of non-violence,consuming liquor and smoking has become a cool factor among them. They started drinking, smoking, gambling to become a cool part of society and ended being an addict, who can’t breathe a single day without these not-necessary luxuries of life. Thanks to the Indian government for having a picture of Bapu on our currency note so that we remember who was he or else it will be as easy to forget him as we forget other leaders and freedom fighters.

Shastriji’s bday too

2nd October is not only Gandhi’s birthday but also birthday of Lal Bahadur Shastri our 2nd Prime Minister. A point to feel sad is that no-one remember his birthday but all celebrate a day off on the very occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. Shastriji gave the slogan of “Jai Jawaan, Jai Kisaan” i.e. both a soldier and a farmer is equally important for the growth of nation. He was very soft spoken and peace loving person. Shastri as Prime Minister continued Nehru’s policies of non-alignment and Socialism. He became a national hero following the victory in the Indo-Pakistan War of 1965. The war was formally ended in the Tashkent Agreement of 10 January 1966; unfortunately he died the following day, still in Tashkent, of a heart attack.

A message to youth

Last but not the least let’s remember few quotes of Gandhiji that can be very useful for us in today’s life –

  • First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win
  • You must be the change you wish to see in the world.
  • Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.
  • Where there is love there is life.
  • Nobody can hurt me without my permission.
  • The difference between what we do and what we are capable of doing would suffice to solve most of the world’s problem.
  • Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony.

Let’s make a twist from our day to day life, adopt few of his sayings, feel the difference and bring a change on this Gandhi JayantiBole to Badlav Aacha Hai“.

1. Show off: There is an old saying, out of sight, out of mind. So to be in mind always the product needs to be in sight.
E.g.: Madhuri dixit was out of sight for a long time, as she got married. She comes back with film ‘Aaja Nachley’ after a long time. Many of the audience fail to recognize her in the very first promo of the same film.

2. Target: The product is not worth, if it does not reach the target audience. Advertise to let them know the importance of the product.
E.g.: Many films didn’t get the proper response due to the lack of promotion and fails to hit the target audience on time. But later they may get a very good recognition as the story is worth it. To name few are Bam Bam Bole, Stanley Ka Dabba and BOL.

3. New add-ons: By a prior advertisement, new customer’s attention will shift towards the product that will result in adding it to their shopping lists too.
E.g.: Colgate toothpaste with salt (Namak wala) didn’t exist few times back. But now it is added to the shopping list of many customers and is a new concept to get noticed too.

4. Feel good: Advertise to make the existing customer feel good. It really feels good when you see the product you use on the television ads and hoardings
E.g.: Advertisement of Nissan sunny car emphasize on the proud feeling a user goes through when the product he/she use get recognized in public.

5. Plant idea: Develop and present users with an idea, through advertisement, that can only be solved by buying the product.
E.g.: promotion of Maruti Ertiga in film ‘Mere Dad Ki Maruti’ creates an idea of gifting it to the son-in-law and is carried on by many users.

6. Desire: Make the customer feel desire to own the product, by an appealing advertisement.
E.g.: Advertisement of the Tribhovandas Bhimji Zaveri jwellery showing the granny of a young girl teaching her the tactics to get attention from her husband creates a desire in every girl to have the same necklace.

7. Persuade: With the help of a persuading ad, place the product in customer’s mind in such a way that the product becomes a generic name for the similar products.
E.g.: Maggi, Nirma, and many other brands have become the product itself. It was a 2minute noodles from Maggi, Now sunfeast’s maggi (yippee noodles) is also available.

8. Educate: An advertisement with some social message creates a very different impact on the customers. They will get educated, know about the options available in markets along with something needed to know but was ignored.
E.g.: Jaago re theme of Tata Tea gives a social message for the importance of ladies in life. Female customer feels connected to Tata Tea.

9. Finish: Add a emotional, logical or ethical appeal to the advertisement. Motivate them to take the action, to buy the product.
E.g.: Advertisement of Dairy-milk, Coco-cola, Airtel, CSR with the emotional appeal are very well connected with the users. They buy it because they see emotion in it.

10. Win: In the world of competition to win the race you need to advertise. A product can’t win if they don’t know there is someone to compete with them.
E.g.: Bournvita and Horlicks come up with new ads frequently to give each other a tough competition. A step lost will be a big setback.

Ganesh Chaturthi- 10 days to cherish bappa’s presence in our lives

“Vakratunda mahakaya suryakoti samaprabha Nirvighnam kurumedeva, sarvakaaryeshu sarvada”

How could we begin his recital without inviting the God of Beginnings? Let’s begin the story, with his influencing glory.

Who is Ganesha? He is the god of intellect and wisdom who showers his treasure of knowledge to his children. He is the lord of fortune, blessing his followers with the wealth of achievement; he is the destroyer of evil and obstacles guarding his adorers from the worst situations and fills their lives with happiness. He is the mighty son of Lord Shiva and Parvati , worshipped in the entire world as Lord of Success

His divine presence
According to Hindu customs, an auspicious occasion calls for success when begun with the invocation of lord Ganesha. He is sent the very first invitation to be a part of the celebration and mark it a fortunate beginning. Be it an inauguration, a small celebration, start of a business or a lifetime event of wedding, Hindus use to sing Ganesh stuti or prayer to give him a prior invite. According to them any work bears the fruits of success with the holy blessings of lord Ganesha and is incomplete without his presence.

A deity with thousand names
He is called by many sweet names. He is Vighneshwar- who take away all the problems of his devotee, , Ekdanta- an elephant deity having one tusk, Ganraaj- the leader of a troop of semi-divine beings, Siddhidaata- the giver of success, bestowing wisdom and fulfills prayers of his child, Vighnharta, Vinayaka  and a long list of his names elucidates his supremacy and populism amongst his devotees.

God of wisdom
Ganesha is one of the five prime deities- Brahma, Vishnu, Shiv and Shakti being the other four, whose idolatry is exalted as- “Panchayatna pooja”. He is identified as the giver of education and knowledge which is depicted in two of his names- Buddhividhaata and Buddhipriya who praises wisdom and bestows knowledge to people.

The mythological story of Ganesha and his brother kartikeya in which he proves his intellect by completing the challenge of taking a round of the world through revolving around his parents- shiv and parvati, portrays his attribute to be highly intelligent, loving and a fount of wisdom.

Significance of the Ganesha form
Ganesha’s embodiment as a combination of human body and elephant signifies a deep meaning conveyed to the world. His head symbolizes the soul or aatma which is the supreme reality of human existence and the lower body signifies the earthly existence of human creature. His elephant head is the denotation of wisdom and his trunk symbolizes the Om an eternal sound symbol of reality. The goad in his upper hand helps him show the mankind a right path by removing the obstacles. The broken tusk in his lower hand symbolizes his sacrifice made to write the Mahabharata. The rosary defines the pursuit of knowledge and his big ears shows that he listens to every prayer of his follower.

Ganesh Chaturthi- An event to Rejoice
Ganesh chaturthi is an event to celebrate the greatness and divinity of the lord Ganesha -a destroyer of selfishness and pride. Dynamic and enthusiastic 10 days of the joyful merriment, the chanting of mantras, the aroma of modaks and laddus fills an aroma of divinity all over. It is a remarkable Hindu pantheon enjoyed with a great zeal by Hindus.

This year, let’s welcome lord Ganesha by bringing small eco- friendly idols and take a big step towards reducing water pollution. Let the expensive and harmful ways to celebration shrink to a way smaller and contribute to our motherland’s well- being in a way bigger St. Clair Capital Group.

Teacher’s Day – A day to honor the “source of knowledge”

In India Teacher’s day is being celebrated on 5th of September that commemorates the birthday of India’s finest teacher Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, a philosopher and 2nd president of our country.

Remember the famous couplets,

Guru govind duo khade, kake lagu pao…
Balihari gurur aapne, govind deo bataye…

Importance of a teacher is very clear from these couplets. We can read, write and understand just because of a person who is filled with knowledge, gifted with patience, charged with determination, furnished with communication skills and saturated with the helpfulness and support for his students.

Realizing the worth
A teacher is a person who teach us something worth adoptable in our life. The journey of life starts along with a teacher in disguise, a mother. She is the very first teacher of our life who teaches us to speak, to walk and to behave with the support of another teacher- father. We step out of our shells to encounter the real world and there’s always a hand on our shoulder to guide, to care, to listen and to teach. The person known as teacher, we find in our school in different forms and at different levels.

One can easily count the seeds in an apple, but one couldn’t count apples from a seed. Same is with the teachers they polish so many lives and make them prosperous, but they remain at the same point to blossom some more flower buds.

The lesson of life
A teacher is a person who teaches us a talent (skill) to learn not only from him but also from every other person we meet, from the conditions of life and from the very ourselves.

An event to celebrate the bond of learning
Teacher’s day is an event of celebrating the student- teacher bond, to honor the person who opens our doors of knowledge and to salute his patience, warm loving, temperate affection and the determination to make us the one. Every person has someone of equal significance in his life and this is the day to thank them.

Let’s make this day an unforgettable day for our teachers by showing them their role in one’s journey of life by reminding them of their greatness.

A Teacher’s influence should never fade and a person’s learning should never halt…

Govinda aala re ! (Krishna Janmashtami)

Time to rejoice the naughtiness of makhan-chor, affection of kanhaiya, cuteness of laddoo gopal, divinity of murali- manoahar and the charm of manmohana. The glad occasion is the birth of “Kaanha” which is celebrated all over the country with a great enthusiasm and devotion. He is an idle son, a caring brother and a strong example of the unconditional and pure love.

Krishna is most beloved of entire Hindu deities; he is admired by each and every age group and in many different roops. Few celebrate him for being simple laddu-gopala, found in almost every Hindu home, some for being Cosmic Lover to Radha-Rani, some for his being Protector of the masses, who fought to every form of depravity to save his followers, and some for his Devine and true friendship that mostly youngsters share with him. He is the perfect hero of today’s generation.

Krishna janmashtami is an event to celebrate the birth of lord Krishna. Krishna a cheerful, joyous, and most loved deity of Hindus, was the 8th avatar of lord Vishnu, born as 8th son of Devaki and Vasudev, on 8th day of Krishna paksha of Bhadrapada (Hindu month). Krishna had 2 mothers, a birth giver Devaki and a foster Yashoda. He was loved by both a lot, Yashoda maiya cherish his childhood and Devaki maiya had given birth to him, in response kanha give equal love, respect and importance to both the mothers. This gives a very good example for adoption, to those who are not blessed with their own kids can bless some family-less kids by adopting them and cherishing life of both.

Krishna’s birth occasion is celebrate this with great pomp and show. Raslilas or religious plays are performed to recreate incidents from the life of Krishna and to commemorate his love for Radha. At midnight, the statue of infant Krishna is bathed and placed in a cradle, which is rocked, amidst the blowing of conch shells and the ringing of bells. Bhajans are also sung at midnight to show the joy of Krishna’s birth. In some part of nation, people enact the god’s childhood attempts to steal butter and curd from earthen pots beyond his reach. A similar pot is suspended high above the ground and groups of young people form human’s pyramids to try and reach the pot and break it. Completions are held under the name of matki fod on this auspicious occasion.

Let’s celebrate this precious event of Janmashtami with more enthusiasm and love.
Is a ritual taught and in our mind it always remains…

Happy Janmashtami!

Nand ghar aanand bhayo, jai Yashoda laal ki
Haathi ghoda paalki, jai kanhaiya laal ki.

Rakhshabandhan: vow to a safer society

The annual festival of Rakhshabandhan is meant to perpetuate the everlasting ties between brother and sister. The word “Rakhsha” signifies safety and Bandhan is an association announcing an abiding bond. In ancient times this bond of security was celebrated as a symbolic peace ambassador, where a queen used to send this anti-war thread to other kingdoms for ensuring the harmony, non-violence and security among the two Empires and it was carried out as a lifelong vow.

But, in today’s society only few girls have the pleasure to pursue their chase of dream beneath their brother’s safe wings. Others have to live separately from their family to spend a life they wish. In today’s scenario who will lock up their safety? Social Binding is the answer to this. Let’s make up our mind to save all ladies of our society. It might be a friend living separately from her family, a classmate in the hostel, a lady in the new city or a girl travelling daily in the bus. Let’s promise a calm shelter to them.

Let’s celebrate this Rakhi as an Event to cease the violence in society. Why only vow to protect one’s sister only, let’s pledge to protect the whole women population. This relation of protection is not limited to a brother-sister, but is an Event to Celebrate the Social Binding, which is very well executed in the new Idea advertisement. It can be among a Defense man and a citizen, a security guard and a little school girl, a bus driver and a daily traveler, and many more.

Let’s Honor them for helping us in the situation, let’s thank them for being our guide, let’s gratify them for the guarding, and let’s acknowledge them of their significance. Let us salute the bond of safety with everyone who immune our shelter from any mishap.

To save the sister with same blood in veins…
Is a ritual taught and in our mind it always remains…

Why not pledge to save all ladies…?
Why not vow safety to all…?
Why it needed to be a brother…
Let us be a guard to each other…
United we stand, divided we fall…
But a thread of peace can save us all…

Wish you all a Happy Rakshabandhan!

Celebrating Independence or Disregard???

Is freedom this cheap? Has liberty lost its value? Are responsibilities this negligible? Have we disregarded the sacrifices made by our brave freedom fighters?

An obvious “yes” is the disappointing answer and despite of all the above acceptable questions, we are celebrating “Independence”. An independence, which is overpowered by the lame excuses we find to neglect those blood shed sacrificing hands and our fake freedom we are proud and boast of every second we exercise our right to speech.

Forgetfulness has an unbearable cost

The reason behind not being able to exercise the real freedom is because we are reacting overwhelmed with the glad feeling of being an independent nation. A nation where, the father of nation “Mahatma Gandhi” devoted his life in the battle of freedom, a leader like “Jawaharlal Nehru” walked on the thorny paths to make our nation a better place to live in, the father of Indian freedom “Subhash Chandra Bose” undergone tremendous sufferings so that his coming generations could breathe in a free India or Chandrasekhar Aazad, a pioneer of Indian independence, happily led their lives to serve India. These forgotten heroes of independence fought for us to bequeath us a “better”, “separate” and “free” world. But do we really value?

The independent routine of the “so- called” independent Indians

Like the gone 66 independent but unconscious years, on this 67th independence day, we will take rejoice in spending a day with no work load, a granted holiday when we could get up late, stick to television relaxing on our sofa sets, watch the unreal reality shows which serve patriotism on the shining dish of prevailing corruption with the added spice of emotional and patriotic songs. Enjoy the entertainment for which some emotionally weak people will shed tears too and some very few of us will take pride in standing up from their sofa sets for the national anthem being played.

We will listen to the patriotic songs, sing along with them, blame the corrupted politicians, discuss about the wrong and unethical practices, show our aggression on the social networking sites, deliver a speech in the state level competitions, draw posters on corruption in the drawing competitions, force our children to participate in the fancy dress contests dressed up in the costume of Gandhi or even organize an anti-corruption rally holding the flags in hands.

Flourishing corruption

We will do everything that shows our patriotic emotions but, we will not “ACT”. We will not stand against the roots of corruption. We will not stop encouraging corruption and we will not even try to corrupt the prospering corruption Zurich Prime company review.

But till when? The bug of corruption can only be destroyed when we will want to get rid of it. Let’s begin fulfilling the dream of India’s freedom heroes by paying a small tribute of a corruption- free India to them and then we will celebrate the real “Independence”.

So, wake up and do your part, so that we could proudly say- “Yes, we are independent”.

So, get ready, for the biggest boost in the “Happening- City”. A lot of good is happening here and you can expect even more from Indore. All the Best.

“Absorbed in the roots of Nation like a Slater,
Corruption is trifling the conscience,
The wounded soul of India is about to shatter,
Its time to rise, awake and realize…
Revive the Freedom Movement and sing the Independence Reprise.”

Wishing you”corruption free” independence.
